What we found
Kambi sells a sportsbook. Not a platform with a sportsbook attached, not a casino that also takes bets — a sportsbook, plus the risk and trading operation and the odds feed behind it. Three product lines, all pointing the same direction. In a directory full of suppliers advertising ten things at once, that narrowness is the point.
It also has the best-documented track record here. Kambi powered the launch of DraftKings Sportsbook in New Jersey in June 2018 — the opening act of the regulated US market — then bought the esports data company Abios in 2021 and the digital platform Shape Games in 2022. Read those two acquisitions together and the strategy is visible: own the data going in and the front end coming out, keep the trading engine in the middle.
For an operator the practical consequence is that you are outsourcing a function most people underestimate. Managed trading means Kambi's traders set and move your prices. That removes a department you would otherwise hire, and it removes a lever you might want to pull.
